While configuring your Charter email, you must figure out first as to how you plan on using and managing your email account. There are two types of Charter email accounts, which allow you to use your email from a single device or from multiple devices. So, you will have to make a decision in this regard as to whether you want to access the email on a single device or multiple ones.

There are two standard email accounts that will be included in your hosting package, these are; Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) and Post Office Protocol (POP3).

An IMAP email account is going to make sure that all your emails on the Spectrum Business Server provide you with the ability to access your emails from multiple devices.

Whereas in a POP3 email account, the emails get downloaded automatically from Spectrum Business Server to your Charter email account. This means you can access your email from only a single device.

Both IMAP and POP3 are used as Server Type/Account Type, but IMAP is the most suitable option to connect to the mail server.
