Do You Want To Know The Process For Setting Up Charter Mail On You Desktop? Here’s The Guide

Proper Setting up of charter mail on your desktop is essential if you want to best experience it otherwise, you may get the problem in accessing it. Configuring the charter mail on the desktop is a bit different from configuring it on your mobile device.

Today, we are going to discuss a step by step guide to setup Charter Mail on your desktop, in case you find any problem in understanding the things, then you can contact email service provider or email them from your secondary mail.

The settings which we are going to discuss with you are highly recommended by the Charter Email Support executives even. We have brought a complete and simple guide in your own language so that you can easily understand and implement it on your device.

The following information is required to be entered in the respective box:
  • Your name: Here, you can enter any name of your choice.
  • Email address: Enter the complete charter mail address in this box followed by a @charter.net symbol.
  • Server information: Here, you need to enter the different settings for incoming as well as the outgoing server.
  • Select IMAP for ‘account’ type.
  • Incoming mail server: type IMAP. charter.net
  • Outgoing mail server: Enter SMTP.charter.net.
Now, it’s the time to enter sign-in information in the relevant box.

Username: Here, you have to enter the complete username along with @charter.net suffix.

Password: Enter the password you used to sign in with. This must be carefully entered because entering a wrong password more than a number of attempts given may block your account.

Now click on ‘advanced’ settings: Go to ‘outgoing mail server’ tab and check mark the box which says ‘ use same settings as used in incoming mail server’ and click on the checkbox given next to ‘My outgoing server require authentication’ option.

Click on more advanced settings to enter the port number of different mail servers:

For incoming mail server: Enter 143 in this field.

For outgoing mail server: Enter 25 in the port field.

For security type or encryption: Click on ‘none’.

Now, you can easily send and receive mails on your charter account but here we want to mention one important thing that if you are using it for the first time on your desktop, then you may require to sign-in to account for the first time.

If you want to configure the same mail on more than one device, then you can do so with the help of email client program. If you want to setup the email on your mobile device, then the recommended settings are :
  • Your name: It is nothing but the username of your account.
  • Email address: Enter your charter mail address.
  • Select ‘IMAP’ for the Account type.
  • Under incoming mail server settings: Enter mobile.charter.net
  • Under outgoing mail server settings: mobile.charter.net
Now enter username and password in the prescribed boxes for login authentication. The credentials must be entered carefully.
  • Select port 993 for incoming mail server.
  • Select 587 as a port number for outgoing mail server.
  • Don’t forget to turn on the SSL security feature in your mobile email settings.
  • Under authentication box: click on always check box.
This is all about the setup process. If you find any problem in transferring the mail account from one server to another IMAP/POP3 or from one mail client to another, then you can take support from the official Charter Support com link. The service experts at the help desk will guide you stepwise and you can easily transfer your mail from one device to another.  Here, we want to mention that Spectrum also provides charter communication services to the people of U.S. They can subscribe to their network by paying the monthly subscription packages.
